Google Drive backup

Post by fatek » 28 Jun 2022, 17:20

I restored an xml from OPNsense 22.x.
I followed the OPNsense instructions & configured Google Drive backup.
I continue to receive an error message.

Is Google Drive backup not active/available?

No Google Drive pluggin is not active.
We don't think that it is a good idea to use Google services in the context of a firewall, this is the reason why we have not ported the Google package.

If you want to import a configuration, It might be safer to import one from v.21.7.x
Importing from 22.1 might not work.

You might want to try removing the section dedicated to Google pluggin from your config file and try importing again.

Why not remove the Google Drive from the UI?

How about the Nextcloud backup plugin, does that function?

We will try to add the libraries in order to make this work.

Will keep you updated.

Another solution would be to use DynFi Manager which automatically backs-up configurations…

Can you please explain why using Google is not a good idea?

Why not remove Google & Nextcloud from the UI (since they are not useful)?

I agree with you, we should either remove the Google / NextCloud from the UI or make it work.
Will push this to our dev team.
