This is the place to discuss DynFi Manager installation and deployment.
Not to be confused with DynFi Firewall installation.

A Newbie with Questions

Post by Datsys » 15 Feb 2026, 03:49

Howdy,
I am interested in adding DFM to our tool set and I would really appreciate some help and information.

Firstly, would we be able to use more than 1 computer to manage the same set of devices? My plan is to get DFM installed on 3 machines ( my Windows 11 laptop; a Windows 10 or 11 desktop at the office; a laptop with Fedora Desktop to be used by someone who works remotely).

Secondly, installation instructions for both Fedora and Windows. As a new kid on the block, I would really appreciate if they are setp by step detailed instructions. In fact, if I can get sripts that would automate the installs that would be very appreciated.

You can perfectly use a different computer in order to manage the same set of devices, as long as they have access to DFM.
Installing DFM on three distinct machines is not the way to go, but rather grant access (through VPN or any other means) to the network where DFM is hosted.

So there is a difference between accessing the DFM with different client (simple HTML connexion to the DFM server) and installing it on three different sites.

If you just want to try DFM on different OS, you can use any OS of your liking (see below post).

I am certain that installing on Fedora shouldn't be too complex.
You can try to follow our online guide https://dynfi.com/documentation/ and check this section : https://dynfi.com/documentation/running_on_any_os.html

If you need some help, use the forum, we will do our best to support you.

Sincerely.
